SCOTT DITZELL

TEAM 2027 COACH

Scott Ditzell, a graduate of Geneva High School, Herkimer Community College, and Syracuse University, has a distinguished background in lacrosse and football, ultimately focusing on lacrosse where he excelled significantly. At Geneva High, he captained his team and earned 1st Team All-American honors, contributing to their historic state semi-finals run. His achievements led to his induction into the Geneva Hall of Fame in 2010.

Scott's collegiate lacrosse career began at Hobart College, quickly transferring to Herkimer under the guidance of Coach Paul Wehrum, where he captained the 2003 undefeated National Champion team and was named NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year. Continuing at Syracuse University, Scott captained the team to a National Championship in 2004, earning All-American honors and Scholar Athlete accolades.

Professionally, Scott played for the Onondaga Redhawks, Rochester Rattles, and Rochester Knighthawks, winning the Champions Cup in 2007. He represented the USA in Indoor Lacrosse, winning bronze medals in 2007 and 2011. Scott was also inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2017.

Now residing near Geneva with his family, Scott applies his extensive experience to coaching Team 2027 at our club, focusing on the development of teamwork, leadership, and personal growth among young athletes. His profound understanding of the sport and mentorship enriches our community, continuing to inspire and shape the next generation of lacrosse players.
