COACHING STAFF
NICK BALLOU
CLUB DIRECTOR / TEAM 2029 & 2032 COACH
Coach Nick Ballou, a West Irondequoit native and current Youth Coordinator for the Grizzly Lacrosse Club, brings extensive experience both as a player and coach. His lacrosse career began under the tutelage of his uncle, a coach at Irondequoit High School, which propelled him into a successful playing career at SUNY Geneseo. There, he achieved All-American honors and played pivotal roles in leading his team to a sectional championship.
Transitioning into coaching, Nick has successfully guided various teams to championship games and has been instrumental in developing youth lacrosse programs from their inception. His approach to coaching, influenced by his career as a teacher in Victor, NY, emphasizes fundamentals, encourages creativity on the field, and focuses on hands-on skill development and strategic understanding.
Nick is committed to fostering a strong team spirit and community among his players, particularly in the travel lacrosse circuit, by creating bonding opportunities that enhance team cohesion. His ongoing relationships with former players underscore his lasting impact on their development and the broader lacrosse community.
As he continues his coaching career, Nick aspires to return to collegiate or high school coaching, aiming to further his influence on the next generation of players. At Grizzly Lacrosse Club, Coach Ballou's leadership is invaluable in preparing young athletes for success both on and off the lacrosse field.
