TEAM 2034/2035 COACH

Lacrosse has been a significant part of my life since I was young. I grew up playing in the Lafayette youth program, which was started by my uncle, Kevin Gale, who also coached me through high school. My high school years at Lafayette were filled with success, including multiple sectional championships and a trip to the State Final during my senior year as captain. After high school, I continued my lacrosse career at SUNY Geneseo, where I played alongside fellow Grizzly coaches.

Now, as a father of two, I’ve spent the past seven years coaching my sons at the youth level for Fairport. My focus has always been on teaching the fundamentals, hard work, and instilling a love for the game in young players. I also work with the Varsity program, helping out with clinics and summer tournaments.

My coaching philosophy centers around fast-paced play and making sure the boys have fun while learning the fundamentals. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing kids develop their skills and watching them achieve success, especially when they beat select teams with their town team. I believe that hard work leads to success, both on and off the field, and I strive to instill confidence in my players by setting clear expectations and maintaining a positive mindset.

My goal as a coach is to help my players develop as both athletes and individuals. I want them to have a great attitude, a love for lacrosse, and the drive to keep improving. The key life lesson I try to teach is that hard work pays off in the end, and that success comes from consistently doing the simple things well. My advice to young players aspiring to reach higher levels in lacrosse is to maintain a great attitude, be coachable, and always focus on mastering the basics.
