SHAWN WILKINS

TEAM 2027 COACH

Shawn Wilkins is an accomplished assistant coach for the RIT men's lacrosse team, currently serving his 14th season and holding the role of offensive coordinator. Wilkins has played a crucial role in leading the Tigers to notable successes including back-to-back NCAA Division III national championships in 2021 and 2022. Under his guidance, the Tigers' offense has become one of the highest scoring in Division III, achieving a record 411 goals in the latest season.

A former midfielder for RIT from 1998-2001, Wilkins contributed to the team reaching the NCAA semifinals in 1999. His collegiate career was distinguished by multiple All-Super Six and All-Empire 8 selections. Post-graduation, Wilkins played professionally for the Rochester Rattlers and the Rochester Knighthawks, and also represented the Italian National team in 2006 and the Canadian Jr. National team in 1996.

Wilkins's coaching accolades include being named the 2021 IMLCA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year and receiving the USILA Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2013. He has also been instrumental in RIT's consistent NCAA Tournament appearances and multiple conference championships.

His international coaching experience includes representing Team Canada as an assistant coach, contributing to a Silver Medal finish at the 2022 U-21 World Championships. Wilkins resides in Penfield with his family and continues to significantly impact the RIT lacrosse program and its players.
